Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church
AE3 designed the renovation of the Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church, a neighborhood fixture that provides religious, education and community services for nearly 1,700 parishioners. The project was completed in two phases. The first phase was the renovation of the existing 500+ seat sanctuary and the second phase renovated the connecting administration building.
Originally built in the 1970s, the administration building renovation involved the complete modernization of 3 floors of space (8,000 SF) and added a 2,000 SF addition on the first two floors. The building includes a service center for parishioners, restroom facilities, classrooms, administrative offices, conference room, and new commercial grade kitchen. The remodel resolved long-standing accessibility issues by providing a new elevator to serve the different floor heights within the building.
